Today’s blog post was dictated to me by my seven-year-olds. Honestly, I always run by ideas by them and ask their opinions about my party plans. They never steer me wrong. But some of these ideas? Well, they are seven.
You always have to have a cake at a party.
If people don’t know what the food is, write name tags.
Always have cute stuff.
Always invite children.
Play, like, some games.
Throw cute parties, like a jungle theme.
Never invite too many kids.
Make sure you have the right amount of food for the guests.
Always make sure the kids are having fun.
Make sure everyone goes potty before the party.
If you’re having a party outside, play some running around games.
Make sure you have water bottles at an outdoor party.
If you are having an indoor party, but you are planning to do the piñata outside, and it starts to rain, and you have to come back in, make sure you don’t do it by breakable stuff.
Make sure nobody gets hurt even if it’s an inside or outdoor party.
Like, if it’s a Fourth of July party or a Christmas party, get an outfit that matches the theme.
To have a Christmas party, make sure it’s Christmas themed like Santa’s elves, what you do around Christmas, and all that stuff.
If you have a pet and it’s scared of loud noises, make sure the party doesn’t get too loud.
If you’re having a boy themed party, make sure they do not start going crazy.
If your children are like, 6 and 7 years old, don’t invite, like, a 12-year-old to the party. Cause 12-year-olds can sometimes get crazy.
If you’re having a bouncy house party in your yard, only let 3 or 5 get in it at a time.
If your backyard is small, don’t get too many kids. And if you have woods right by your house, make sure they don’t run into the woods.
Me: What are some of the best foods to have at a party?
Spaghetti! Cake! Ice cream! Pudding! Candy! Cupcakes! Cookies! Peanut butter pie!
Me: What are some of your favorite games to play at a party?
Hullabaloo! Twister! Coloring! Crafts!
If you have a movie themed party, dress up like the characters and have a play.
If you’re having a surf girl party, you can decorate with surf boards and if you can’t find a surf girl cake, try to make one. And then get someone to make surfers and a beach umbrella and stick it on the cake. Write that down! Did you get that?
That is just the cutest thing ever.
This is the BEST!! One of my favorite blog posts ever! I love their advice – I found myself nodding in agreement in between fits of laughter.
To Meg and Grace, wonderful job! This is excellent advice for ANY party. I think you should have a regular column! Also, you can probably guess this since you are both very smart for your age, but between you and me, boy themed parties never become less crazy no matter how old the boys get. ; )
Thanks, Heather! And thanks so much for the FB share! Regular column? Hmmm….
WOW, what an OH SO CUTE and FUNNY post!!! Some very great advice, Meg and Grace, you did a great job!
Your girls are brilliant! I especially love the advice about the boys parties! Great job girls!
