At our Mystery Party, I was asked how I used party printables to wrap water bottles. It’s really easy, so today I’m sharing the how-tos.

Bottle Wrap Supplies

  • Printable bottle wrap file
  • Cardstock or waterproof labels
  • Paper trimmer
  • Scotch tape

Bottle Wrap Instructions

1 – Print and trim out your bottle wraps. (You can use cardstock or waterproof labels.) I like to use a paper trimmer for this. You’ll also need your bottles (obviously), and Scotch tape.

2 – This technique works for soda bottles or water bottles. But you’ll want to choose a bottle with a flat (not a rounded) surface. Peel the label off the bottle.

3 – You can’t see it in this photo, but right where you see the big air bubble is a code printed on the bottle. Make this the back of your bottle. Tape the first side of the wrapper to the bottle. (If you are using waterproof labels, these will be self-stick and you won’t need the tape.)

4 – Overlap the second end of the label and tape it to the bottle and the first label.

And here are your finished bottles.

Attaching Straws with Washi Tape

I usually attach straws to my water or soda bottles with baker’s twine or ribbon. That’s not hard; it’s just a little tricky to get the tension right and to keep the straws from flopping over. So the day after my daughters’ birthday party (of course it was the day AFTER!) I had an inspiration: washi tape.

Maybe you’ve already thought of this, or maybe every other blogger out there has already thought of this, but it just came to me and I’m pretty excited about it! It’s easy, it’s fast, it’s cute. The tape holds the straws at just the right angle. And, it removes without ripping your labels. Bingo!

I just ripped off a piece of washi tape about 1.5″ long. But you could trim the tape for a neater look, or wrap it all the way around your bottle.

I think the tape on the bottle looks cute with the washi tape straw flags I’d already made.
