Twinkle lights. Jenny Raulli of Bloom Designs had me at the twinkle lights. Jenny styled this under the stars movie night party for her daughter Audrey’s 11th birthday. And of course, as a printables designer, Jenny created all the printables for the party. (And the party accessories all came from her shop.)
MOvie Night Party Dining Table
Jenny had dinner outside and strung the area with white twinkle lights. The table featured a white ruffled tablecloth, and each place was set with a glittered scrapbooking paper placemat. Dinner was served in takeout boxes with utensils that Jenny glittered. She also decorated each chair with a star and the guest’s name.
Two shades of pink poms hung above the dinning table.
Movie Night Party Dessert Table
These girls ate well. Oh, to have the metabolism of an 11-year-old again. This table is inspired by the Milky Way — get it?! It’s those kinds of little only-mom-gets-it jokes that keep me going when my party energy is pooping out. The table included cake, milk, cupcakes, donuts, cookies, cakes in a jar, chocolate bars, and candy — a great mix of homemade and store bought, which always seems like the most sensible way to pull off a dessert table. (AKA, you do not have to do it all yourself.)
I love the way Jenny served the mini cookies — so easy to grab and go in the scalloped candy cups. And her decorated spoons are way too cute!
Jenny decorated her milk bottles using her Silhouette. If you do a lot of parties, a die cutting machine really does pay for itself.
Jenny served two cakes because she’s kept the smash cake tradition alive at every birthday. (That’s gingham ribbon decorating the fondant cake — a multi-tier chocolate delight.)
Movie Party Snacks
It is an established fact that you can’t properly watch a movie without treats and drinks. Jenny’s guests had all the treats you’d find at the movie theater snack counter, plus darling gumballs.
Movie Night Party Drink Station
Note to self: find and purchase a rustic wagon.
Movie Night Party Activities
So the guests didn’t just have an outdoor movie, they also had nail painting (the “Star Treatment”) and made their own kaleidoscopes.
And of course, there was a photo booth.
Each girl took home a “shine” t-shirt that Jenny made. (I’m not convinced that Jenny sleeps.)
Thank you, Jenny for letting me share your party!

Hi, how did you make the kalidescopes?
Hi Amanda – This is actually a guest party by Bloom Designs, so I don’t know how Jenny made the kalidescopes. You might check with her over at http://bloomdesignsonline.com/.
