You can count on the child of a party planner to start thinking about her birthday early, and Keisha’s daughter asked for this Monster High Birthday Party the day after her last party — ha! Keisha is the printables designer behind Cupcake Wishes & Birthday Dreams and I’m thrilled that she shared her party with us!
Monster High Party Spa
Keisha created a full spa in her home — complete with mani pedis and facials. She made the towel wraps (with a special zebra embellishment for her daughter).
Here’s one of Keisha’s very cute signs. All the spa stations were named for Monster High characters.
Keisha is a master of high / low party planning. She raided the dollar store and came up with these pink facial bowls — score! Each girl also went home with a personalized water bottle and a zebra headband.
After facials, the group divided into two for mani pedis. Keisha had a friend’s teen come in to help with all the polishing.
Monster High Party Food
Nikki chose a menu of pizza and strawberry-banana smoothies … um, yum? LOL — if it made her happy that’s all that matters. For the dessert table, Keisha called in some high-powered dessert help, ordering fondant toppers from Edible Details, custom cookies by Astonishing Cakes, and macarons and macaron pops from local talent Fresh Bakes.
One of my favorite details from the dessert table is the ruffled streamer backdrop. Keish shows you how to make it here.
For the cake and cupcakes, Keisha used one of my favorite time and money savers by dressing up a store-bought cake and cupcakes. For the cake, Keisha added rock candy, sugar sheets and a cookie topper.
And the Hats!
OK — here’s why Keisha didn’t have time to make the cake. In addition to planning the party, designing the printables, making towel wraps, sewing the ruffled backdrop and everything else, the girl made mini party hats for each guest. How cute are these?!
The Party Favors
The last big treat of the party was a party favor bar, set up like the dessert table but filled with soaps that look like desserts … how stinkin’ cute!!
Thank you, Keisha for sharing your party with us!
Keep up with Keisha
