I am so fortunate to get to work with many talented printables designers, and one of my favorites is Catherine Jane Joy. (You may remember Catherine’s studio as Serendipity Soiree.) Catherine’s special gift is illustration with a vintage flair. She also is an amazing party stylist who always inspires me, so I’m thrilled to be able to feature her Peter Rabbit Easter Brunch!

Catherine drew the Junie B. Jones inspired figure for my Junie B. Jones Party and was a dream to work with. I adore the three-panel invitation she designed for her Peter Rabbit brunch. (I wish I could draw — what a talent.)

I loved the Beatrix Potter stories as a kids, although my two never really got into them. (Don’t they understand by now that mommy needs them to love everything vintage and classic?!)

You know I’m a sucker for a white cake with a fondant topper. Love, love, love the hand-painted Peter’s House sign.

Catherine says, “We wanted to create a whimsical woodland setting with a pretty rustic feel…a nearby protected forest did the trick. We made a large beautiful old tree into a tree-fort with sticks complete with a hand-painted Peter’s House sign. Large logs became the perfect spot to curl up with a throw and pillows to read our favorite Peter story. A large circular tree trunk became the perfect table for drinks and treats. Peter even had Easter eggs hidden about the bunny trail.”

And Catherine’s own bunny filled in for Peter. If you can pull off a live animal at your Easter brunch, more power to you! Don’t you love the juxtaposition of the rustic tree stump table with the doily place mats?

To the side of the sweets table was McGregor’s Garden, which held party favors and more yumminess. Treats included:

  • Mocha and Pistachio French Macarons
  • Carrot Cupcakes
  • Flopsy’s Famous Chocolate
  • Blue Raspberry Lemonade
  • Chocolate Easter Eggs
  • Peter’s Favorite Juice
  • Three Tier Cotton-tail Coconut Carrot Cake
