Since before I became pregnant with my twins, I worried about their health. From our adventures in preterm labor to bed rest, I was terrified that the girls would have health problems. My focus was solely on, “If I can just get them BORN healthy, it will all be okay.”
Now, why I thought my worries would be over once they were born is beyond me. I blame pregnancy brain. Of course once they were born, I started worrying all over again. We’ve had some health scares and challenges along the way.
But none of this compares to my fears. None of it compares to childhood cancer or the myriad of other diseases that latch onto our children. They break my heart.
So one of my goals, from the time I launched this business in 2011, was to be able to donate a part of my profits to a charity focused on children.
Today, I am proud to support St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and The Confetti Foundation. When you shop The Party Teacher, you are helping support these incredible organizations.
The Confetti Foundation
The Confetti Foundation is a non-profit organization that supplies boxes of themed party materials to children who are hospitalized on their birthdays. Through volunteers, The Confetti Foundation gathers party supplies, fills the boxes, and then distributes them to participating children’s hospitals across the country. Each party box is unique and hand-packaged with a special theme. The boxes contain party supplies such as a banner, activities, toys, cups, and plates. All that a child’s family needs to supply is the cake in order to have a special birthday party right in their hospital room.
Through our annual lemonade stand / snow cone stand / bake sale, The Party Teacher has donated $914 so far to The Confetti Foundation. Click here to support The Confetti Foundation directly.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of its founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.
Unlike any other hospital, the majority of St. Jude’s funding comes from individual contributions. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude. Click here to support St. Jude directly.
