On Monday I had a sweet surprise from Easy Made Invitations: Lindsay had chosen me for the Liebster Blog Award. I honestly didn’t know what it was, but who doesn’t like winning an award?

It turns out the Liebster Blog Award is given to up-and-coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. Liebster is a German word meaning “dear, sweet, kind, nice, good, beloved, lovely, kindly, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing and welcome.”

To keep this award going, it must be passed along to other new and deserving blogs. So now it’s my job to recognize five other bloggers with less than 200 followers that have really stood out from the crowd.

The rules for the Liebster Award are:

  1. Thank the person who gave the award and link back to their blog.
  2. Reveal your top 5 picks and let them know!
  3. Copy and paste the award on your blog post.
  4. Have faith that your followers will spread the love too!

Here are my picks for favorite blogs with less than 200 followers:

1 – In Flight Ideas (http://inflightideas.blogspot.com/) – more cute parties, giveaways and shopping guides that are well-worth checking out! (If you are in the Knoxville area, you also can take advantage of In Flight’s party planning and dessert table services.)

2 – Palm Beach Parties (http://www.palmbeachparties.org/) created the sweet pink Nutcracker ballet party that you may have seen earlier this month. I “met” Carla through Martha Stewart’s Dreamers Into Doers. She creates “modern preppy” printables for girls, boys, showers and holiday parties (and can provide assembled party printables, also). Her blog features parties and tutorials.

3 – Million Dollar Smile (http://www.milliondollarsmilecelebrations.blogspot.com/) Edible Details said it best this morning on Facebook, so I’m just going to quote her: “Most of you may not know ‘Nicole Gould’ by name, but I bet you know her by her parties! Including Charlotte’s Royal Ball, Jimmy Buffett Birthday, Chic Pumpkin Patch and many other parties that have been loved by Hostess with the Mostess and Amy Atlas Events! Well, now there is a name and page to go with the talent, Nicole is now Million Dollar $mile! Congrats Nicole!! Head on over to show the love! :)”

4 – Tickled Peach Studio (http://tickledpeachstudio.com/). I also met Kathy through Dreamers Into Doers and I could practically walk to her house from mine – small world, isn’t it? Kathy designs sweet printables and features her work in parties on her blog. I’m really excited about collaborating with her on a free Valentine’s printable for you in February!

5 – We Love Crafty Tracey (http://www.welovecraftytracey.com/) I never can seem to tag Tracey on FB (sad!) but please follow the link to her new blog. She features tutorials, parties, freebies and the printables she designs. (And don’t forget that today – 12/14/11 – is the last day to enter the giveaway of one of her printables sets on my blog – click here to view the post and instructions for entering.)

And I also just want to call your attention to Little Boo Creations (http://littleboocreations.blogspot.com/), the brainchild of Stephanie, whom I met at a local craft show. Stephanie creates very cute accessories for girls (and moms) like flower clips, beanies, kufi hats, flower headbands, tutu and flower pins. You’ve seen some of her work decorating my girls in our party shoots. I love seeing her new products in her blog and reading about how she juggles it all. She doesn’t necessarily post very often, but go ahead and subscribe so you can keep up with her sweet designs.

So, thanks very much Lindsay! I’m honored and hope my “award winners” also pass on this fun award! (And if you missed it, be sure to check out the birthday candle invitation tutorial Lindsay shared with us here.)
