If you follow me on Facebook, you know that my girls have already said they want a surfer girl party for their next birthday. Their birthday is in February. We don’t live at the beach. Sigh. So, I was pretty inspired to find this Backyard Beach Bash from Melissa of My Party Passion in my email. Melissa brought in loads of sand and five pools to create a beach party in her backyard. What a fun way to celebrate her son’s 7th birthday!
What I love best about Melissa’s party is how much effort she put into crafts and activities for her guests — some 75 people! These signs tell the story. Melissa offered sand castle building, a photo booth, water play, tattoos, a souvenir shop (!), craft station and snack shack — all arranged under a tented boardwalk.
Here’s the boardwalk in the driveway.
In the backyard, guests found a craft station and “water world.” Love that octopus!
The snacks and treats at the boardwalk were many!
These little chairs were on the tables with ice water.
The menu looks like it could be hanging in a beach cafe. (Melissa also had sunscreen stations throughout the party area.)
Flip flop suckers – how cute!
The flip flop cookies are from Desserts by Dawn.
Melissa used a combination of printables from Shindig Parties To Go — some free, some from their Etsy shop — all cute.
The souvenir shop with a cute beach ball backdrop.
Photo booth with real sand!
You can follow Melissa at her blog, My Party Passion and on Facebook.

Thanks Kathy and Lindsay. It was by far the most involved party I have ever done. Labor of Love!
What kid wouldn’t love this! What adult wouldn’t love this! Melissa is super crafty and put together an awesome shindig. Thanks Jennifer for this feature.
