Spread the love

There are so many new friends of Double the Fun Parties, I thought it might be a good idea to introduce myself a little more. My bio is on the About page; but this list might give you a little more flavor.

  1. I have two pairs of hot pink shoes and think I might *need* a third.
  2. I work from home, so on most days, dressing up means putting on earrings. (But I lose my earrings all the time.)
  3. I love that my daughters still travel by skipping.
  4. I love to read and usually have a few books going at once.
  5. Favorite author: Wallace Stegner.
  6. But the books I’ll read over and over are Jan Karon’s Mitford series.
  7. Typing has greatly degraded my handwriting quality and speed.
  8. Favorite candy: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I have been known to steal them from Easter baskets and Halloween pails. (But one time, Grace found my hiding place and started stealing them back from me. While chagrined, I was also pretty proud of her.)
  9. I keep LaVie candies in my desk.
  10. I have a big laugh.
  11. Around here, my husband is known as the Vice President of Special Projects, Packaging and Shipping.
  12. My girlfriends are the BEST.
  13. Phineas & Ferb totally cracks me up. How great is it that the bad guy has his own theme song?
  14. My girls are twins, so I tend to forgot that when other people are pregnant, they aren’t carrying two babies. I consistently refer to their babies as “they” instead of “her” or “him.”
  15. Party planning gives the girls and I great opportunities to play together. They are learning about baking, crafting, and (ahem) shopping. But mainly, it’s just great time for us together.
  16. I am a Minnesotan by birth, but grew up in part on Capitol Hill and have lived in the South since I was 13.
  17. I graduated from a women’s college and also did graduate work at a historical women’s college. The experience isn’t for everyone, but for me it was a perfect fit and those friends are still part of my core group.
  18. A bowl of Kellogg’s Special K Chocolatey Delight keeps me blogging late at night.
  19. In my fantasy life, I try one new meal for dinner each week.
  20. I read all your comments and so appreciate that you take time to talk with me!

And 21 …

I started Double the Fun Parties because I believe that moms can create amazing at-home parties if they just have a little help. Maybe you just need inspiration or maybe you can DIY it with a party plan or maybe you’re busy and need a party kit sent to your doorstep. Whatever your situation, I hope my blog and website will become your first stop for party planning.
