My girls went through a Clifford the Big Red Dog phase. I can’t even tell you how many Clifford books we had. So I had to smile when one of my lovely sponsors, Kathy of Tickled Peach Studio, sent me her daughter’s Clifford the Big Red Dog birthday party.
Kathy is a talented printables designer. She created the printables for my Valentine’s Swee(Tart) Party and for my college reunion fiesta. I would happily recommend working with her. Of course, Kathy designed the printables for this party.
Kathy tells the story of her party beautifully, so I’ll let her take it from here.
“We are HUGE Clifford The Big Red Dog fans in our house! So when it came to picking a theme for my daughter’s third birthday I knew without a doubt that it would have to be a Big Red Third birthday!”
Kathy welcomed guests with her homemade chalkboard that she let me borrow for my Junie B. Jones party as well as a giant cardboard Clifford.
Clifford Party Decor
“I went with a bright primary color scheme of red, blue, and yellow. I cut triangle cardstock buntings and hung them all around our party area. For our tables I made centerpieces in small metal pails found in Target’s dollar bin section. Each centerpiece included a pinwheel fan and small images of Clifford and friends. I used the remaining scraps from the bunting and punched confetti to scatter around the tables.”
Clifford Party Food & Drinks
“We served hot dogs, sub sandwiches, and dog bone shaped PB&J sandwiches for the kiddos. Other items served included salad, chips, veggies, and fruit. Drinks included sweet tea, lemonade, sodas, and water.” Kathy used her printables to decorate the cups and napkin rings.
Clifford Party Dessert Table
“The dessert table featured a big red three piñata personally made by me and filled with the birthday girl’s favorite treats – Reese’s peanut butter cups, Kit Kat bars, and lollipops. The backdrop for the dessert table included cardstock triangle buntings and pinwheel fans with images of Clifford and friends.
The treats on the table included a vanilla cake, vanilla cupcakes, puppy chow, rice crispy treats, chocolate dipped pretzel rods, and cookies. Our cupcakes were topped with custom cupcake toppers from Edible Details. The custom cookies were created by Yummy Delicious Cookies by Whimsical Originals .”
Clifford Party Craft Table
“On our Clifford’s Craft Table I had placed a coloring sheet, stickers, and bean shaker for each of our little guests. Markers and crayons were also scattered around the table. The bean shakers were made from Crystal Light plastic containers. I added some dry beans, taped down the lid, and wrapped them in red construction paper. Each little guest had their own shaker with their name on it that they decorated with stickers. They had a blast making music with them and it was a fun take home gift!”
Clifford Party Activity & Favors
In the book “Clifford’s Birthday Party” Clifford gets a piñata for his birthday. So when I came across a tutorial pinned on Pinterest for a DIY number piñata I knew we had to make a big red three! The kids (and adults) had a blast hitting the piñata.
Guests signed a copy of “Clifford’s Birthday Party” as a little gift for the birthday girl. She will be able to read it for years to come and remember her big red birthday party!
And here’s the sweet birthday girl!

I so wish you had some of these decorations still! I live in Dawsonville and would love to purchase them for my sons first birthday in April if you have them!
Hi Georgia – You could always send Kathy a convo via her Etsy shop. Maybe she still has some of the decor – who knows?!
