As a mom of twins, I have it fairly easy when it comes to birthdays. Two birds with one stone and all that. I get to be a little more extravagant than I might be for a party of one. And of course, it’s all made easier because I have two of the same sex. The challenge of a joint boy-girl party must be why this post is one of the most popular on my blog. So I’m excited that Sunny of Sunny by Design is sharing this Prince and Princess First Birthday Party with us today.
Sunny helped mom Alicia host this party in a local park. Sunny baked all the desserts herself with just one helper, designed and assembled all the printables, and styled the dessert table.
The prince and princess had separate smash cakes, topped with fondant crowns and finger puppets from Carters.
Other desserts included chocolate covered pretzels, cotton candy lollipops, strawberry trifles, strawberry marshmallows, macarons and cupcakes. (The pretzel canister is just a painted baby formula can!)
Twin birthdays are even more special when you think of how often twins have to overcome health challenges, as these two did. Mom Alicia blogs about parenting through her twins’ complications here. Sophie and Cameron enjoyed their smash cakes very much!
For the older kids, crowns and swords were available for decorating.
