If you’ve been following along with me on Twitter or Instagram or Google+ or Facebook (she snorts at the restricted reach of FB posts…), then you know I’m a little nervous because I’m tackling the birthday cake for the girls’ party this year. Other than making it four-tier and trying a new icing technique, I’m trying to keep it simple (within my skill set). So when I see a plastic leprechaun pot, full to brim with gold coins … only to realize it is a CAKE … well, color me impressed.
So let’s talk about the cake. Chocolate cake, whipped ganache, and cheesecake. I’m putting on weight just thinking about it. And even the coins are edible.
I have to say, the tutorial makes this look do-able. I can’t even think about my own St. Patrick’s Day until after our party on Sunday, but this cake is putting me in a party frame of mind.
Feeling cake-y? Ashlee offers a video series on cake decorating! I really can’t think of a better way to learn. The first class is free — learn more here.
