I made these leaf placecards for our Thanksgiving dinner, and the process is so quick and simple. I’m sharing the tutorial with you today. I’ve also got a template that you can easily customize using Canva. Here’s how to make Thanksgiving leaf placecards for your family celebration!
Thanksgiving Leaf Placecard Supplies

1 – The easiest way to recreate my placecards is to use the template I created. Click the link to the template, and it should open automatically in Canva.com, a free design program. (You will need to create an account.) Here’s what the template looks like.
2 – To change the names, click on each name, highlight it and type the name you need.
3 – If you need more placecards, click the “Duplicate page” symbol at the top of the design. (It looks like a plus sign in a box.)
4 – Prepare to print out your page of placecards by clicking the “Download” button, then choosing “PDF Print” as your file type, and clicking “Download” (the purple button). Your placecards should be in your downloads folder.
5 – Insert a sheet of 8.5″ x 11″ cardstock in your printer, and print as normal.
6 – Closely cut out each placecard so you have a small white edge around each ribbon banner outline.

7 – Punch a hole at the base of each leaf.
8 – Punch a hole in each banner.
9 – Fasten the banner to the leaf with the brass paper fastener, then twist the ribbon banner slightly so that the leaf peaks out from beneath the name tag.
