Santa Mug Floral Arrangement Instructions
1 – If you won’t make your floral arrangements right away, trim the ends of the flowers at an angle. Add to a vase of water with floral preservative until you’re ready to arrange your flowers.
2 – There are three tricks you can use to help position the flowers. 1) Add a flower frog to your mug. 2) Use floral tape to make a grid across the top of your mug. (Don’t use Scotch tape; it might lift off the glaze.) 3) Add floral foam to the mug. I bought a large quantity of floral foam before I learned that it’s not a great choice for the environment, so now I’m just trying to use up what I have on hand.
If you use floral foam, turn the mug over and press it into the foam. This will give you give you a guideline to trim the foam.

Once you’ve added the foam to the mug, top it with about half a packet of floral preservative. Add water.

3 – Gather one white rose, one red rose and a few green dahlia. Trim so the stems are just a tad taller than the mug. Add that bundle to the center of your floral foam.

4 – If you need to open up the roses, spin the flower gently between your palms.

5 – Add clusters of other flowers so you have a mix of white, red and green throughout the arrangement. Turn the mug as you work so you can see any gaps that need to be filled.

6 – Add a few rose leaves on either side of the flowers at the bottom of the arrangement.

And there you have your Santa mug floral arrangement. Perfect for your party, holiday decorations or gift giving!

If you try this, I’d love to see how it turns out!
