If you like the idea of upcycling and sustainable partying, I’ve got some ideas for you. In today’s DIY, we’re turning an almond tin into a DIY party favor tin.
{This is Part Four in our trash to treasure favor box series. To see Part One, click here. To see Part Two, click here. To see Part Three, click here.}
I’m sure unsalted almonds would be a healthier snack, but these are darn good. (They are especially yummy in the afternoon with a hot cup of Hills Brothers Cappuccino from Part Two of our series. Perfect afternoon pick-me-up.)
This almond container is gold with a blue lid, but don’t let that stop you. You’ll cover up the lid completely and can make the end product any color you like.

Party Favor Supplies
- Blue Diamond Almond tin
- Ribbon
- Cupcake liner
- Thank You stamp
- Circle printable (From Cathe Holden via World Label. Find them on my Free Printables Pinterest board here. They come in several colors.)
- Stamping ink

- Aleene’s Thick Tacky Glue (my fav!)
Party FAvor Tin Instructions
1 – I had red ribbon, red cupcake liners, and red stamping ink, so I made this a red project. Start by peeling off the label from the almond tin and then washing it out.
2 – I found red circle printables from Cathe Holden via World Label. (Find them on my Free Printables Pinterest board here. They come in several colors and a variety of styles.) Print the tags and trim out the rows.
3 – Punch out the circles with a 2.25” circle punch (EK Success makes them).
4 – If you choose one of the circles with an empty center, stamp the tag with your Thank You stamp. For some of the other circle designs, you could handwrite whatever message you like.
5 – Glue the cupcake wrapper on the almond tin lid and then press the wrapper down over the edges of the lid.
6 – Glue the tag onto the cupcake wrapper.
7 – Tie a 2” ribbon around the canister. You may want to secure the back of the ribbon with a glue dot to keep it from sliding. Notch the edges of your ribbon.
Total project cost: $0!!
