As much as the girls help with my parties and see every aspect of their creation, I sometimes wonder if they really understand what it is I do. So, tonight while they were in the tub, I had a captive audience to ask them some questions.
What do you think mommy’s business is?
G – You make fun parties. You make all of it. You buy a LOT of stuff. You always make lots of desserts. Oh – you sell party kits. You sell party plans.
M – It’s a party business for kids that want to have these certain parties and they think they would be fun and they like your ideas.
G – And they could ask you to do a different party. Kids’ parents could email you to see if you could make a new party and see what you come up with.
M – You sell great parties. Things you need for the party. Instructions of how to do it. I also think that you send them a little bit … wait, no, that’s all.
M – Why are you doing this?
G – It’s for her blog. [So I have to say I’m surprised that G knows what a blog is!]
What’s your favorite party that we’ve done?
G – I have to think about that one. I have no idea. They are all my favorites. Maybe Wizard of Oz.
M – That’s a tricky one. I’ve liked them all, so I might answer all. Because I’ve loved them all very much.
Why is the Wizard of Oz party your favorite?
G – I liked the rainbow cake. A lot of friends were over. It was really fun. But it was really cold outside.
What do you like best about my business?
G – We’re always in the parties.
M – Coming up with the parties, spending time with friends, doing crafts, taking pictures. I really like every single thing. I also like the food that you make homemade.
What’s your favorite part of a party?
G – Eating the candy and sweets. [I wish you could have heard her evil laugh.]
M – Eating sweets.
G – We said the same thing!
What kind of party would you like to do?
G – I want to do a cheer leading party. And an Indian party where we all have black wigs and our hair braided.
M – I would like to do a cowgirl party. Did we do a fairy party? [Yes! Remember?] I would like to do a Barbie party. And one more. I would like to do an Enchanted party. We could like get costumes and dress up as the characters and do a little play.
G – No.
How do you feel about going to the craft store with Mommy on the weekends? Do you like to go?
G – Not really. Well, actually I do. (I made a mistake.) I like getting Ritz Bitz in the checkout line.
M – I’m normally not that excited but when I go I sort of enjoy looking at things. So it’s a little bit of fun. I especially like saying “I can find it, I can find it” when I really can’t. I just guess where it is. [Yes, honey. I know.]
Do you like helping make crafts?
G – Yes. I just like doing crafts. And I like baking for the parties, like that rainbow cake.
M – I also like helping you get ready for the parties. I like helping you find things when you can’t find it. [That is ALL the time.] And getting things for mommy like getting soda out of the refrigerator. [You just never know what they think is fun. Who would have guessing getting soda?]
G – Why does your computer have an apple in front?
Me – Because it’s an Apple computer.
G – That’s weird. I don’t get that.
G – Emergency here. I have to poop.
HA!! Oh Jennifer, your sweet girls have me laughing so hard! I *love* their interviews. They are just darling and SO unintentionally hilarious!
“Unintentionally hilarious” is the story of our house – you nailed it.
hahah…. that gave me a good laugh! My girls are only 4 and want to know why they can’t go to every party they see an invitation for. “That party looks fun! Do you think she would invite us?” is what i hear most often! 🙂 Sweet, sweet!
