Today I’m excited to welcome Christy of Itsy Belle back to the blog — don’t miss her Owl Baby Shower and Valentine’s Spa Party. Christy styled this Vintage Baseball Party to honor her grandfather — and you know this must have touched his heart! I think this party would be great for boys of ANY age — or trade the navy pinstripes for pink and host it for your softball-playing daughter.
Christy says, “Every year my grandparents fly from Seattle to Mesa, Arizona for the winter specifically for my Grandpa to be able to play on his soft ball team. At 79, he sometimes plays three games a day! It’s his love of the game that inspired me to throw him this 79th Vintage Baseball Party.” She also designed all the printables and you can purchase them in her shop.
Vintage Baseball Party Dessert Table
Things I love about the dessert table:
- Pinstripe backdrop that looks like a baseball jersey
- Rustic soda boxes used to elevate the treats
- The food is SO clever — how can you not LOVE Twinkies dressed up to look like hot dogs?
- White serving pieces — they work for every occasion
- See the tiny red and blue bunting on the center box? Adorable!
The dessert table included Coke and Cracker Jacks. (Take me out to the ball game, anyone?) The straw flags look like old fashioned pennants — so cute!
Baseball cake pops and “corn dogs.” With no time to bake, Christy embellished cakepops from Starbucks and added red icing to Twinkies — instant theme food!
Oreos were dipped in white candy melts and then highlighted with red trim. Fast, and budget-friendly!
Vintage Baseball Party Dining Tables
The table runners are kraft paper. I swear, this stuff works for any occasion, and it’s affordable. Red, navy and white in the background add a great pop of color. They also give Christy’s 4th of July decorations a second life.
Christy turned carnations into a baseball — see the stripes? And peanuts served as an appetizer and a decor element when popped into a dollar store vase and topped with a pennant from the printable collection.
