I am gearing up for my Gardening Party Plan photo shoot, and had a little inspiration to share with you. Here’s what I came up with: a $18 garden glove wreath that takes just 5 minutes to put together. Easy, inexpensive, and cute — a winner in my book!
This is one of those tutorials that takes longer to write than to do. So, don’t be fooled by the number of steps involved. This is really easy. Promise!
Garden Glove Wreath Supplies
- Tall gardening gloves
- Silk flowers – 5 bushes – I used two yellow tulip buses, two pink tulip bushes, and one sunflower bush. If you buy fuller bushes, you may not need as many.
- Cable tie
- Green floral wire
- Scissors
- Grosgrain ribbon – I chose yellow in a 1-inch width
Garden Glove Wreath Instructions
1 – You are going to layer your floral bushes, with the largest in the back. I started with the sunflower bush, then added pink tulips on top to the left and yellow tulips on the right.
2 – Now add the second bush of yellow tulips on the left on top of the pink tulips. Add the pink tulips on the right.
3 – Add the cable tie around the stems and tighten. Trim the cable tie short.
5 – Create a loop for hanging with another zip tie. Don’t cut this one off until you’ve tested hanging the wreath from an over-the-door hanger.
6 – Slide the flowers inside the glove.
7 – Cut a length of ribbon 38 inches long. Position the ribbon about 5 inches from the top of the glove.
8 – Double knot the ribbon, then tie it in a bow. Trim the ends of the ribbon at an angle, then seal them with a lighter to help prevent fraying.
9 – Hang the arrangement by the zip tie loop from an over the door hook. If the wreath hangs too far away from the door (instead of straight up and down), tighten the zip tie loop.
